Yosemite national park Wow. I was gone for a few days and I got a daily deviation. When I logged in and saw 1,042 messages I thought for sure it was spam. Thanks guys.
[Stock & Resources] This great capture of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park will make a wonderful background in a photomanipulation. Be sure to check out the rest of the Yosemite series in this deviant's gallery. Meadow (17) by kayosa-stock (
it just seems so out of place, especially since the author has better submissions in her gallery.
also, i'm not quite fond of the stock-images-getting-dds... thing. some of them can be quite useful, yes, but in the end... they're just your everyday photos. daily deviations should be awarded for truly artistic things.
then again, the dd section has had a ton of crap for over a year now... maybe i should be thankful that kayosa-stock is a decent nature photographer. but honestly, she has done better...
daily deviations should be awarded for truly artistic things.
Having art featured as DDs from many galleries is really inspiring actually, it could introduce people to other things as well. I didn't even THINK that people could have such beautiful stock available for others to use freely for something called photomanipulation. Everyday photos need to have an usable and inspiring quality in them [as stock] so them getting DD is pretty much fair, considering the "thank you" comments the providers will receive. Maybe you don't have a connection to photomanips or artistic drawings, but those who do may find those DDs really inspiring. nevermind the beautiful grass, look at those delicious and useful mountains.
that is true, and i'm actually a pretty open guy when it comes to various art styles! it's just that the artist has betterpicturesofmountains as well as betterpicturesofgrass (and other greenery goods) and it's just... it kinda makes me sad because i see people faving this a lot just because it's a dd when she has better photos, even if they're stock. i'm glad she's getting promoted and that i discovered her work, but i wish people would actually check her gallery instead of fave+go.
well that was the CV's choice and it would be wiser to note them(the CV) instead of commenting on a happy stock provider's deviation. xD There is no "better" no matter how much you analyze them, they're just what YOU would pick as a CV instead. (I like all personally ) It depends on people and how they work with faves, but it definitely appeals to those who fav for use purposes They may check other things out as well, thinking " maybe the artist has better stock out there "
Still, you shouldn't complain on the artists work itself. They didn't choose to be featured, and seeing comments saying how it doesn't deserve to get a DD can really hurt someones feelings. If you need to complain about it you should do it to the person who featured it, not the artist.
Nuttin'. Just figured since I found you there schooling deviants on DDs I thought it must be time to drop by again! I would have finished reading and commenting on your Journal, but my internet suddenly got a little slow, so the pages didn't load yet. They're fine now.
